Tottenham
Hotspurs are set to beat the local sides Manchester United and Arsenal
for Everton midfielder James McCarthy, according to several sources.
According
to ITV, reports suggest that Spurs have already reached an agreement with
Everton for their midfielder James McCarthy.
After
a brilliant performance against Chelsea at White Hart Lane on last Thursday, Mauricio
Pochettino is eyeing to further strengthen his side to finish in the top four.
Manchester
United and Arsenal who were also eyeing him should take a step back now with reports
strongly claiming the agreement among these two sides has been reached.
Daily
Mail also revealed that the deal is done as McCarthy did not travel with the
squad yesterday for Hull City game.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez rejected last month that he will not sell his star player but seems a solid offer has changed his mind.
McCarthy
joined Everton from Wigan Athletic for a fee around £13million in 2013’s summer.
The 24-year-old is a regular player for the Merseyside Blues since his move. This
season, he has made 13 Premier League appearances.
However,
McCarthy will have a tough completion in London. Mousa Dembele, Benjamin
Stambouli and Nabil Bentaleb already competing for that role.
