Manchester
United are planning to sign Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao as the Los
Blancos have entered the race to sign Valencia full-back Jose Luis Gaya.
Real target Luis Gaya is also being eyed by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, according to the Express.
United
boss Louis van Gaal is yet to seal his first winter move of a defender despite
of knowing the defensive weakness in his squad.
In
the first half of the season, United suffered defensively due to the number of
injuries to the defenders but despite of their return they are still not upto
their mark.
United
signed Marcos Rojo and Luke Shaw in the summer but both of them have struggled
with their injury problems.
Real
Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao would be great move for United. The Portuguese
man is struggling with playing time at Santiago Bernabeu.
The
26-year-old who has been rated at £25million has made only six La Liga
appearance so far this season. In total, he has made 95 appearances since his
move from Benfica in 2011.
Reports
have linked the Red Devils with several centre-backs and full-backs, however
nothing has been concrete yet.
Yesterday,
it was reported that 23-year-old centre-back Aleksandar Dragovic is set to move
to Old Trafford.
