Manchester
United are set to launch a £35million offer for Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats
Hummels, according to Daily Mirror.
The Red Devils failed to secure his deal in the summer after the departure of duo
centre-backs Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand. But with
the recent reports United are set to seal his move this month to solve their defensive
issues.
The
World Cup winner was also targeted by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger but seems
that they have taken a step back due to high price tag.
However,
Bundesliga side are willing to keep their star defender by offering him a new
contract but the Hummels wants to play in the Premier League.
Hummels
will surely leave Dortmund as they are struggling in the league. They have won
only four of their last 17 games in Bundesliga and are sitting in the
relegation zone.
With
the worst performance from the German outfit, many of the star players are
likely to leave the club this month or after the end of the season.
Dortmund
star İlkay Gündoğan is also likely to leave as Manchester United and Arsenal
are monitoring his situation. The midfielder has been strongly linked with a
move for the past few days.
