Liverpool are ready to go head to head with Chelsea for Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, according to Daily Star reports.

Star reported that the Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is planning to offer 32 million
pounds for Mauro Icardi who could be on his way out if Inter fails to grab a
Champions League spot. The
21-year-old is rated at 32 million pounds according to the Italian club.
Inter are also eyeing Liverpool midfielder Lucas Levia who could be used by Liverpool in Icardi's deal .

Inter Milan are struggling this season, currently on 9th spot with 25
points in 18 games. Six points behind the Champions League spot.
Meanwhile, Chelsea
boss Jose Mourinho is also keeping tabs on his situation, as per the reports.
Didier Drogba is likely to announce his retirement at the end of the season and
the Blues would be short of first team strikers.
Icardi
has been a super talent for the Serie A side since his move from Sampdoria in
2013, He has netted 23 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions. While he
has scored 10 goals in 16 starts in Serie A so far this term.
The
Argentinean youngster was a part of Barcelona academy before his loan move to Sampdoria
in 2011 which later turned into a permeant deal.
