With
yesterday’s disastrous performance by Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny against
Southampton, the Gunners have spotted German stopper Loris Karius to give Polishman a competition.
Daily
Mail reported that Loris Karius has been strongly targeted in the past 24 hours.
Arsene Wenger is looking to seal the deal this month.
The
21-year-old is a highly-rated keeper, he is the second best to Manuel Neuer in
Germany.
The
North London club signed David Ospina after his World Cup performances last
summer but his injuries cost him a chance. With lack of competition for that
role, Szczesny has started making some serious mistakes. The two errors he made
led towards the goals against the Saints yesterday.
German
duo Borussia Dortmund and Schalke are also keen on Karius along with La Liga side Valencia.
The
6ft3in tall can be adjusted in the England easily as he has played three years at Manchester City academy before his move to FSV Mainz 05
II in 2012. He is a regular player for Mainz,
currently with 20 appearances this season.
Karius
is also named as the next Manuel Neuer after his impressive displays for the
Bundesliga side. He is yet to appear at senior international level but has represented
several junior levels.
