Reports
state that Arsenal are about to get midfielder William Carvalho from Sporting
Lisbon. The deal is about to finalise in £25million, according to sources.
Arsenal’s
first bid was around £15million which was rejected by Sporting Lisbon. However,
a second bid which is reportedly around £25million has been offered for the
Portugal international.
The
move of William to North London was speculated from last years as both clubs
were in contact for the deal. Unfortunately, the deal broke down as Lisbon
wasn’t impressed by Arsenal’s bids.
Wenger
is pretty much confident that he would be able to bring William to North London
as he thinks that £25million would be enough to secure his services.
The
22-year-old midfielder expressed his wish to play in Premier League in November
and his dream is likely to be fulfilled this month.
Carvalho
can also play at the centre-back position other than playing in defensive
midfield role. William also played in two of Portugal’s three matches in the
World Cup.
He
has made 43 league appearances since breaking into the first team.
