Arsenal
have denied to sell their left-back Nacho Monreal this month with Daily Mail
claiming La Liga side Athletic Bilbao are keen to get him.
Mail
reported that La Liga Athletic Bilbao are strongly linked with him in the last
few days, however Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has denied to sell their full-back
Monreal in the winter transfer window.
The
28-year-old has been a key player for Wenger’s side and the Frenchman is not
planning to sell him this month.
Monreal has been a vital player for the Gunners in the absence of several regular players.
He has been used not only as his favourite full-back role but also at central role due to
the injury of Laurent Koscielny in the past. The Spanish defender played an exceptional
part in Arsenal’s win over Manchester City.
While
the La Liga side Athletic Bilbao are keen to strength their defence. Arsenal
are also set to seal Gabriel Paulista deal but it doesnot mean a departure of
Monreal.
Monreal
who joined Emirates from Malaga in 2012 has not been a consistent player for the
Gunners. He has made 23 appearances this season in all competitions.
