Serie A side AS Roma are keen to sign winger Mohamed Salah from Chelsea, according to
the player’s agent.
The
deal is likely to be a loan deal with an option to buy him permanently at the
end of the season.
Meanwhile,
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has already admitted that due to thin size of the
squad, Salah would only leave if any new face comes in. The
Blues have been linked with several player including Marco Reus of Borussia
Dortmund.
Salah
has been struggling at Chelsea since his move from FC Basel in 2013. The player
has made total of 18 appearances in all campaigns for the Blues.
His
agent Oliver Kronenberg told that Italian side Roma are willing to get his
client on a loan deal this month.
“It’s very likely he’ll
leave Chelsea on loan.”
However,
Salah is currently on big wages and Roma would not be offering such pay, as per
his agent but he added that they will have to see about it. Salah could accept
a big wage cut for regular football.
“I spoke to Roma, but the cost of the operation is very high. He is on
big wages at the moment and would like to maintain them. We’ll wait and see
what happens.”
Chelsea
have also several options after loaning Salah out. They can recall any of their
duo youngsters Thorgan Hazard or Lucas Piazon from their loan spell as a replacement
of the Egyptian winger.
The
22-year-old has not started a Premier League game so far this
season. He has only made three appearances from the bench.
