Jose Mourinho wants to sign Manchester City defender Micah
Richards at the end of this season, as per Guardian reports.
Micah
Richards will be out of contract at the end of the season. The right-back is not offered with a new contract
by the Premier League Champions. He also lost his place in the starting line-up
and his appearances is also limited due to Pablo Zabaleta.
Chelsea are looking to strengthen their defense as the Blues are planning to get Richards
on a free transfer in the coming summer.
Chelsea boss Mourinho
is an admirer of Richards and wanted him to sign in 2011 for Real Madrid when he
was in-charge but he stayed at the Etihad Stadium.
The Portuguese boss is eager to get him in his team so that he can
strengthen his right-back and he can also get a back up for his first choice
player Branislav Ivanovic.
Rumours
exists that Liverpool are also interested in Richards as Glen Johnson is also likely
to leave Anfield at the end of this season once his contract expires.
Serie A side Inter Milan are also in the queue for the Englishman and they can give tough competition to the Blues in signing City’s
defender.
