Matija
Nastasic has left Manchester City for German side Schalke on loan for the
remainder of the season, according to City.
Manchester
City confirmed the move on their official website that the player has left them
for the rest of the season with an option to move permanently.
Nastasic
joined City from Serie A side Fiorentina in 2012 and played impressive games
for the Citizens in his limited appearances. The
21-year-old made his debut against Real Madrid in an away Champions League game.
With
suffering back to back injuries the defender suffered much in terms of getting
first team opportunities. Nastasic
made 51 appearances for the Defending Premier League Champions since his move
in 2012. He won a Premier League and League Cup at Etihad Stadium.
The
Serbian who attended the Schalke's training camp at Doha will be wearing number 31 for them.
Schalke
boss Roberto Di Matteo is already aware of Nastasic talent and is likely to
make the most if him.
On
the other hand, Nastasic also confirmed that he did not leave because of
relationship issues with the boss Manuel Pellegrini. He left because he wants
to play regular football.
Nastasic
is only focusing on a loan move and could return to Etihad if City want him back.
