Manchester
United are set to finalize a deal for AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman, according
to latest reports.


Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has been a long term admirer of the Dutchman and has
been eyeing him since long. However, his injury problem did delay in the summer but now he is fit and playing.
It was also reported few days ago that United might not go for him if Roma qualify for the Champions League knockout stage. But AS Roma are out from the Champions League, the midfielder will now be planning to move in January.

were beaten by two goals to nil against Manchester City yesterday.

signed Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao in the summer window but the Spaniard
failed to fulfill the expectations.

of Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini impressive games recently, the Dutch
boss is planning to finalize the deal for the highly rated Serie A star.
Meanwhile, United were also targeting Juventus star Arturo Vidal who was on the top of the
list in the summer, however, the Chilean decided to stay in Italy and has no plans to leave in the near future.

Gaal also signed Daley Blind in the summer who was playing impressive football
before suffering an injury last month while on international duty. The
Dutchman is expected to be back next month.
