Manchester
United are set to seal the deal for the 19-year-old Atletico Madrid defender Jose
Gimenez after Manchester City's bid of 17 million pounds recently got rejected
by the Spanish side.
Reports
have claimed that Louis van Gaal has stepped up after City's bid got
rejected from the La Liga side.
The
19-year-old has made seven appearances this season and is looking for further opportunities
to show his talent.
Manchester United are well aware that 17 million pounds would not be enough for the Uruguayan
which means that LVG will seal this move for a fee around 20 million pound.
The
price tag is definitely way too high for the youngster. If a 20 million pound
bid got rejected then no club would come to secure his services.
The
teenager was signed last year and has made only 8 appearances for the La Liga
side since his move.
Signing
him will not give United a boost in the defence line as he is not an experienced
player. However, it would be a great addition to the squad for the future.
United
have already called duo defenders Tyler Blackett and Paddy McNair earlier this season due to the
injury problems of first team defenders and United have seen their struggling time at the
back.
