The German newspaper Wolfsburger Nachrichten revealed that both the sides are eyeing the £22million left-back.

The Swiss man impressed at the World Cup in the summer which caught the eye of these clubs.

However, both the English outfits bought a left-back in the summer, Liverpool signed Alberto Moreno from Sevilla and the Red Devils bought Luke Shaw from Southampton.

Shaw has been out since long and United continue to struggle with the injury problems. Louis van Gaal could be weighing up a move for the Switzerland international.

It is also reported that Rodriguez was not keen to move in the summer but he is eyeing for a Premier League move in the coming transfer window.

The 22-year-old is a regular player for the German side since his move from FC Zürich in 2011. He is an attacking full back, he has scored 6 goals in 14 games so far this season in all competitions.

It remains unseen that which club will now look for his move as the player has expressed his desire to play in the Premier League.
