Serie
A side Roma are planning to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech in Janaury
according to DailyMail.
Reports have already revealed that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has insisted that he has not received any offers for his goalkeeper.
The 32-year-old who has a £7million worth is already targeted by top sides including Arsenal, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Paris Saints Germain.
Former
Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole might play a role in convincing his former
teammate to join the Italian club. Cole joined Roma in the summer on a free
transfer.
After
the return of Thibaut Courtois, Cech has not been a regular for the Blues. He has played only
five games in all competitions this term.
Blues
boss Mourinho said last month that he has not received any offers, Cech is
still a Blue and he has a contract till 2016.
He
further added: “He's a fantastic professional and puts the team's interests
first. Not once has Petr Cech knocked on my door to inform me of his desire to
accept some proposal. This is my truth. Nothing more I can say.”
According
to player’s agent, Roma are taking interest in his client but it is likely that
Cech will stay.
Roma
have also shown interest in the other side of London, they are eyeing Spurs centre-back
Vlad Chiriches.
The
Romanian defender has not been a regular since Mauricio Pochettino took the
managerial role at White Hart Lane. He has started only three Premier League games so far this
season.
