Arsenal failed to pick a point against Stoke City as three first half goals were enough for
the Potters to earn them the three vital points.
Peter
Crouch broke the deadlock before Bojan and Jon Walters made it to three
for Stoke before the half-time. While for Arsenal Santi Cazorla and Aaron
Ramsey closed the gap but ended with nothing.
Former Liverpool striker Crouch took Stoke above in the 19th second of the game when midfielder Steven N'Zonzi crossed from the right side.
Arsenal
striker Olivier Giroud had the opportunity to equalize with a header but failed
to make the most of the cross. The Frenchman's miss led Stoke to score another goal which was scored by former Barcelona striker who was one of the best performers today.
Jonathan
Walters who set up for Bojan scored the third goal for the Stoke with a close
range shot.
After
the break, Wenger introduced Danny Welbeck to give the Gunners a boost in front
of goals. Arsenal could have gone 4 – 0 down if the linesman had not given an
offside against Mame Biram Diouf.
The
visitors scored their first goal when Santi Cazorla netted from the spot which was
earned by Mathieu Flamini.
Welshman
Aaron Ramsey took Arsenal very close when he fired a shot into the corner of the goal.
Arsenal continued to press to find a goal to earn a point away from home
but they failed and returned home with empty hands.
