Arsenal
are planning to sign West Ham defender Winston Reid for a £4million fee, according
to Daily Mail.
The
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen on centre-back Winston Reid who
is ready to leave West Ham next month.
Reid
has been on Arsenal’s radar since November. The Gunners have been keeping very
close tabs on the New Zealand international.
Arsenal
fans are already hoping a defender from Arsene Wenger next month. The Frenchman has shortlisted many defenders including
Dortmund star Mats Hummels and Aston Villa skipper Ron Vlaar.
Reid
will be out of contract after this season and the Hammers are not ready to meet
his demands. Reid wants more than £60,000 per week which is not affordable for
the Hammers.
West
Ham will definitely sell him for cheap price rather than letting him go on a
free transfer in the summer.
Wenger
has a £20million budget in his hands and can sign a fine defender and a
defensive midfielder if he sells any player too.
Currently,
Arsenal’s defenders Laurent Koscielny and Mathieu Debuchy have returned from
injuries but Calum Chambers is now out.
Nacho
Monreal, Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy all have struggled with injuries and also with their positions as all of them have played out of position
to fill the gap of Laurent Koscielny.
