Arsenal
are now open for the Brazilian star Lucas Silva as La Liga giants
Real Madrid have taken a step back, according to Spanish media Marca.
Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was eager to sign the youngster from Brazilian side
Cruzeiro. He offered but failed to conclude the deal. Now reports are
suggesting that Arsenal are now clearly open for his move and soon will be
reaching an agreement.
The
Brazilian side have put a price tag of £13 million on their star player.
Marca
reported that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has refused to increase
the offer as Luka Modric is now making an excellent progress and soon the
Croation will be seen on the pitch.
However,
Silva can not be signed as Modric’s replacement at the moment. The 21-year-old can be
signed as a future star.
Florentino
Perez declared: “Unless there are extraordinary circumstances, we will not
bring reinforcements in the winter transfer market. Right now there are none.”
“If
Lucas Silva has to come, it will be in the summer under normal circumstances.”
With
the clear statements from the President that he will not bring any new face in January
means Silva will have to wait for his dream move to Madrid till the summer else
he can join the Gunners easily in the winter transfer market.
While
Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira is also set to stay at Santiago Bernabeu. Arsenal have been in strong link with the German midfielder.
