Reports
have claimed that Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi is planning to
leave the Spanish giants in January, according to Fichajes.
Illarramendi
was signed by Real Madrid from Real Sociedad in 2013 for a fee around £25million
after his impressive performances for Real Sociedad. But the 24-year-old has
only started three games in La Liga so far this season.
Liverpool
boss Brendan Rodgers has been keeping close tabs on the Spaniard as he is struggling
to get playing time for Madrid. With Luka Modric out with an injury, Real boss Carlo
Ancelotti is still not giving him a role in the starting eleven.
He
has made total of 15 appearances in the Champions League and La Liga this
season but started only five games.
Reports
are claiming that Liverpool will now go for him next month and they could
launch a bid around £20 million to acquire his services, however, Madrid will
not be willing to sell him.
Recent
reports have also claimed that Arsenal are also monitoring his situation as
they eye a midfielder for the second half of the season.
Premier League duo Liverpool
and Arsenal are likely to go head to head for the 24-year-old Spanish midfielder.
