After
a week in Europe in which LA Liga sides dominated while their counter-parts
from England struggled in Europe, LA Liga resumed with his normal glamour as
Real Madrid again torn-apart their opposition. On the other hand and not too
far from Real Madrid in the League table, Barcelona got their pursuit to the LA
LIGA title back on track as new-signing Luis Suarez made the most of his
opportunity. Reigning Champions missed the opportunity of Valencia’s goal-less
draw as they themselves were undone by a Real Sociedad side.
Here are the top 5 performers from this week in LA LIGA.
Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
After
an un-characteristic of his performance against Liverpool in mid-week in which
his scoring form took a halt, Ronaldo resumed his goal-scroing after providing
two assists to his team mates against a vibrant Rayo side. Although the
score-line is flattering for Real, still Ronaldo’s performance was the main
factor why Real thumped Rayo. His goal tally for the season has gone up to 18
goals with 5 assists to his name as well.
Lots
of questions were raised upon his arrival not only from his former bosses but
also from within the Real Madrid ranks as his job was to replace a legendary
figure in Xabi Alonso. However, just like his predecessor at this job now
excelling in Bayern Munich colors, a 30 yard goal which came after a wonderful
assist to Gareth Bale suggested Toni Kroos is also finding it easy to fill in
the boots of Xabi Alonso.
Luis Suarez (Barcelona)
After
making a slow start to his Barcelona career in which both he and his new
employers struggled for a fortnight, Luis Suarez came got his majestical touch
back against Almeria away from home. After conceding a goal just before half
time, Luis Enrique subbed Suarez at the interval and for good. With his 2 late
assists to Neymar and Jordi Alba both of which were his trade-mark, Suarez
opened his Barcelona account of assists in good fashion.
Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad)
A
former Arsenal player now trying his luck in LA Liga, Vela made the most of his
opportunity to showcase his talent against one of the best in business. Against
an Athletico Madrid side which is known for its physical presence in defense,
Vela refused to be kicked out of the game as he opened the scoring just 5
minutes after Atletico scored, to pave the way for a memorable comeback that
lifted Real Sociedad out of the relegation zone on goal difference.
