In a rather untimely and ill-judged situation
by the former Juventus and current Italy manager Antonio Conte, the Italian has
claimed that the Liverpool striker Balotelli is without a doubt "beyond
help".
Liverpool fans who are still suffering from
yet another injury setback to Daniel Sturridge will feel this comment from the
highly professional manager as a rubbing of salt on their wounds. Sturridge is
once again injured and Liverpool will have to again rely on the man who hasn’t
hit a goal in his two months of Liverpool career in the Premier League.
Antonio Conte recalled Liverpool striker
after his Italy team went short on strikers. However, the striker had to come
back after playing a minute of football as he injured his hamstring during
training. And Conte, who has coached players like Andrea Pirlo during his tenure
wasn’t fazed by what he saw from the Liverpool striker.
“I’m not so arrogant as to
claim that I’m different from the great coaches, but the past tells us that
they failed to change Balotelli” revealed Conte when he was asked about Mario
Balotelli behavior.
Liverpool, on the other hand
cannot shake their hands off as the striker is the only genuine contender to
replace Luis Suarez. But just like the
comments being offered by the Italy coach suggests, that bargain price that
Liverpool paid for Balotelli might well become a mountain to climb.
Liverpool get back from
International break with an emotional trip to Crystal Palace as the Eagles were
the side that effectively ended their pursuit of the title last term, horrors of which
they are still suffering from. And in order to bounce back from back to back
defeats, they’ll hope that the recent comments offered by the Italian manager
will spur up Mario Balotelli.
