Premier League sides Manchester United and Arsenal have suffered a big blow following the demand of £47million from Borussia Dortmund for their star defender Mats Hummels.
Reports
have revealed that the Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund have demanded a fee
around £47million for the German centre-back Mats Hummels. Premier League sides will have to
break the bank in order to secure his services.
Manchester
United and Arsenal both have been planning to sign a centre-half in the coming
transfer window and Hummels has been a top target for both the sides.
The
25-year-old has been linked with the Red Devils since long. Louis van Gaal who
has already spent more than £200million on his summer signings might not be
allowed for a big move from the owners while Arsenal will definitely take a
step back now as £47million is way too high for them.
Hummels
has only played six games for Dortmund in the Bundesliga this season.
Apart
from the World Cup winner, Ron Vlaar is also one of those player who has been targeted
by these two sides. Vlaar will come for a cheap price as his contract expires
at the end of the season.

Arsenal
boss Arsene Wenger has also targeted Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic.
