German center-back Per Mertesacker is enjoying his birthday as he receives

Mertesacker who has played for Werder Bremen and Hannover before joining the Gunners in 2011 has made Arsenal defence stable since his arrival at the Emirates. Arsene Wenger has made him the first choice center-back.
The
German defender made the most appearances for the Gunner last season, 43. He
was also named the vice-captain of Arsenal by the boss before the start of this
new campaign.
Mertesacker has only missed the starting game for Arsenal but after then he has been a regular starter this season.
