Manchester United defensive problems continue as Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans are set to miss this clash with injury problems while 20-year-old Tyler Blackett received a red card in a 5 – 3 defeat against Leicester City last weekend.
New
signing Marcos Rojo is the only senior central defender available for this
clash.
While
Luke Shaw is the likely one to start his first game for United after returning
from an injury.
VanGaal
told: “We have nine injuries and one suspension with Blackett. the younger
players can have their chance now.”
"All the three right-sided centre-halves are out, I don't know how long they will be out for.

Evans’s
bone is bruised lot, that’s the injury which will take time. While Smalling could
not train yesterday due to stiff legs.
The
Dutch manager further added: “We have to see what that means but I don't take
risks with players.”
New
boss Van Gaal is still struggling at Old Trafford, he has managed to get only a
single win in his first five League games. Even knocked out of Capital One Cup.
This
injury news will give a blow to United fans as they are well aware of United defensive
problems.
Van
Gaal answered when he was asked about if this is the toughest job of his
career: “Maybe, but we have to see in a year, not in a week when we have nine
injuries. This club is in transition, we don’t know in advance when the
difficult moments will be.”
