Good
in attack, huge depth in midfield but a thin defense line, this is Arsenal
football club for you after the transfer window being business done by their
manager. Despite conceding the lowest amount of goals in the top 4 last season,
the Gunners knew their defense would be at stretch when the Champions League
will come calling. An untimely injury to Nacho Monreal means the Gunners will
be without their 1st choice left back and 1st choice right
back against Bundesliga runners up.

Arsenal will be without the likes of Nacho Monreal, Mathieu Debuchy, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott against Dortmund.
Although the Gunners defeated the
German giants last term, there is little respite for the Arsenal side as
newcomer Chambers might make his Champions League debut in such a crunch
match. Group D in which Arsenal is situated has been filled with the likes of
Turkish side Galatasary and Dutch side Anderlecht as a fairly competitive group
awaits for the North Londoners.
And
while the recent injury crisis deepens, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger might be
hoping that he would not be ruing the departure of Thomas Vermalaen to
Barcelona after the final whistle today. Left back Hector Bellerin will be
starting on the bench assuming if Gibbs is fit however if that is not the case,
the left back problem might become a nuisance for Arsenal today.
19 year old Hector Bellerin might be starting in the full back
position for Arsenal if Gibbs is declared ‘’not-fit-enough’’ to play.
Although
Mikel Arteta featured in the final 2 minutes against the Premier League giants
on Saturday, it would be interesting to see whether he features against
Dortmund or not. However keeping in mind the crisis which is at the Central
Defending midfield for Arsenal and Flamini running out of temper more times he
runs after the ball, the Spaniard is looking all set to start even if he is
marginally fit.
Now
the question comes for the attack, Arsenal played really well with Welbeck
up-front however they might be needing more conversion rate from the English
International as Dortmund might not allow the Arsenal midfield trio of
Wilshere, Ramsey and Ozil to move through that pockets of midfield. However
looking through the chances that Arsenal are creating at a rapid pace this
season so far, it would be criminal if Wenger tempers with the current bonding
in Arsenal midfield.
