The Portuguese defender who has earned eight caps for his country has a £2.5million worth according to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

The 27-year-old full-back is in doubts for his future as he has denied to sign a new deal. His current contract will expire in 2016 which means Malaga might sell him for a cheap price.

The Portugal international defender has played 47 La Liga games for Malaga since his move in 2012.

Arsenal new right-back Mathieu Debuchy is out for three months with an ankle injury while left-back Nancho Monreal is also struggling with his injury. Kieran Gibbs is the only senior left-back fit to play in the Arsenal squad.

While Calum Chambers who was signed from Southampton this summer can play on any side of defence. Former Arsenal center-back Sol Campbell has told the young Englishman to be a permanent center-back rather than becoming a full-back.

Campbell told Sky Sports: “I don't think he is going to be a right-back or a left-back.”

Campbell believes that his body and game style is perfect for the central role, he should listen to him and should keep learning.
