Here
is a detailed look at Arsenal signings of summer 2014-2015:
Alexis Sanchez
One
of the best signings of this summer is of attacker Alexis Sanchez who joined
from Barcelona for a fee around £35million. It was Arsenal first summer signing
and probably the best signing in terms of all aspects. The Chilean is already
impressing at the Emirates, he has scored important goals.
Mathieu Debuchy
The
former Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy was signed as Bacary Sagna’s replacement
who left Arsenal for Manchester City on a free transfer few month ago. Arsenal paid £8million
for the Frenchman. The 28-year-old was keen to play Champions League football.
David Ospina
A
goalkeeper which was bought after seeing his heroics at the World Cup in
Brazil. Arsenal signed him for £2.2million from French side Nice. The 26-year-old
was brought to Emirates to give competition to the current first choice goalkeeper
Wojciech Szczesny.
Calum Chambers
The
teenager was signed for a fee around £13million from Southampton. The versatile defender
had an impressive last season for the Saints which caught Arsene Wenger’s eye.
The 19-year-old has played all the three Premier League games for the Gunner so
far.
Danny Welbeck
Arsenal
boss Arsene Wenger who made statement on striker several times that he won’t be
buying a striker this summer but still he made the fans happy at the deadline
day as Danny Welbeck signed from Manchester United. The Englishman was signed
for a fee of £15million. He will be the main striker for the Gunners as Frenchman
Olivier Giroud is out injured till the New Year.
With
these signings Arsenal can surely do some better this season despite of a poor
start of their Premier League campaign. Sanchez and Welbeck will have to play a
vital role for Arsenal’s successful season.
