Liverpool
have suffered another blow from the England camp as Jordon Henderson has reportedly
suffered a minor injury in a training session in Basel yesterday.
England
camp have already given Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers a headache after Daniel Sturridge's injury which has sidelined him for 3 weeks.
Hendersron
played the full game against Norway which ended as 1 – 0 in favour of England, last Wednesday.
England
boss Roy Hodgson was planning to start Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere along
with Henderson at the center of part tonight against Switzerland in the European
Cup qualifying fixture. But now Manchester City versatile midfielder James
Milner is the likely one who will be replacing the Liverpool man.
Despite of these two main players out injured for this important game, captain Wayne Rooney is confident to start the qualifiers with a win.
Switzerland
are the toughest team present in the Group E, the rest are Estonia, Slovenia, San
Marino and Lithuania.
Manchester
United striker Rooney said: “It is important to try to win, but
I think not to get beat and give Switzerland the upper hand from the first game
is vital.”
“We
all understand there are big expectations playing for England. That starts on
Monday. ”
While
stopper Ben Foster and new face Jack Colback are also out with their respective
injuries.
