Arsenal who are closely monitoring Manolas’s situation will now have to fight United for a £6million move.
Arsenal
are considering him as Thomas Vermaelen's replacement who joined Barcelona a month
ago while United manager Louis van Gaal is eager to bolster his defensive area by
signing the Greek defender.
After
opening game defeat, Manchester United are now considering for a defender swoop
despite of signing left-back Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon for a fee around £16m.
Van Gaal is keen to land a center-back before the transfer window ends.
United
have already lost their two legendary center-halves Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja
Vidic, and have not signed any replacement yet.
The
Red Devils have been in strong link with Borussia Dortmund German defender Mats
Hummels but failed to reach any agreement for the World Cup winner.
Reports
have also revealed that Italian sides Juventus and Napoli are also interested
in Manolas.
The
23-year-old has to decide which side to join for a better future. United can’t
offer him Champions League but can give him a regular spot. Whereas, Arsneal already have Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny at the center of the defence.
