Thomas
Muller has been a top transfer target of Louis van Gaal since he was named as Manchester
United boss.
Van Gaal has been searching for a world class talent who can bring the old
glory days back to Old Trafford and Muller was on top of the transfer list.
The
24-year-old forward has admitted that a move to United was way better than his
current club in terms of money but he believes that the decision of staying at Allianz Arena was a better one for his future.
Muller
who started his professional career from Bayern Munich in 2008 told Bild that
he was aware of United’s plan, the offer was astronomical but staying in
Germany was a better option for him.
He
told Bild: “The amount that Manchester United were offering me was astronomical.
But Bayern are my club, a change was not an issue for me.”
The
German forward who enjoyed his World Cup victory last month has scored 100
goals in 258 games for his club Bayern Munich. He has won every trophy with
them including three Bundesliga titles, a Champions League trophy and many
other local Cups.
