After
Louis Van Gaal returned from an impressive pre-season to Old Trafford, hopes
were sky high from the Dutch Manager. But the Manchester United Manager
failed to convert pre-season form into a winning start of his Premier League
career. After suffering a 2-1 defeat by the hands of impressive Swansea City, many
pointed out LVG’s lack of ambition in transfer market. The United Boss has so
far signed Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera. But both of these haven’t been the game
changers in their previous teams. And United’s biggest problem at the moment is
to find someone who can turn the game on his head. One man who has the ability
and did so game after game last season is Angel Di Maria.

Di Maria has been on United’s radar since the start of transfer window but so far the Red Devils has failed to make a breakthrough in his pursuit. The Argentine can be bought for a transfer fee of £63million after French Side Paris Saints Germain refused to pay such a price tag.
Lets see why United should pay a hefty fee to get the Argentine en route to Old Trafford.

Angel
Di Maria was in prime form throughout last season. He work rate and agility
makes him a very special player. He was unstoppable in La Liga 2013-14.
Manchester United needs a player who can make contributions day in day out. And
Di Maria is just that kind of player. Maybe Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo leads the chart in
terms of goals but it was Di Maria who made the work easier for the duo. Last
season he made 17 assists, 4 more than any other player in the Spanish League.
One thing which makes Di Maria different from others is his ability to create
key passes in the final third.
Di
Maria was a top contributor to goals in Europe’s top 5 leagues last season. At
one side when Rooney and Van Persie couldn’t find a key pass, Di Maria was
making it more often than not on the other. He created 90 chances throughout
last season. His contributions to the team were not restricted to league
campaign only. But he also played a key part in his Side’s Champions League
Triumph. He made 5 assists in Real Madrid’s La Decima campaign. His most
important contribution came in Champions League final where he set up Bale to
score a goal by which Real Madrid took lead over Atletico. Even in the World Cup, his never ending
stamina and abilities helped his team to reach World Cup Final.
So
the Argentine may be not as famous as Bale and Ronaldo who have millions of
fans. But he is a type of footballer who lets his head down and work hard for
the team. His never ending stamina and ability to make key passes makes him so
dangerous for opposing teams. So Angel Di Maria is a perfect player for
Manchester United. He along with Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney can make the most
effective attacking trio of English Premier League.
