While
Liverpool have strengthened their attack with an outrageous catch of Italian
Mario Balotelli from AC Milan, they have again joined the English elite having two star
strikers in their ranks. While Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool
have two deadly strikers up-front, Arsenal like their London neighbors Chelsea
are relying on one decent striker. When Alexis Sanchez arrived at the Emirates it
was thought that the Gunners’ boss might play him with the main man upfront,
however it is the right wing role that is best suited to the Chilean.

Giroud scored 16 goals last season still he was under major criticism as on the basis of relativeness. While he guided 15+ goals which are more than decent for any striker, he come short against teams that were sitting above Arsenal in the Premier League table. However against the mid-table teams, he was more than effective for the Gunners and this is where he silenced his critics.
Olivier Giroud failed
to score any goal against the top 4 last season.
Giroud
started the last season with a bang and after scoring in each of the first 4
matches for Arsenal, the Frenchman form hit a dump. So when the big boys came
calling at the turn of year, Arsenal who have enjoyed a decent 1st half last
season slumped to 4th and the matters could have been worse after Ramsey injury
who compensated for the absence of Giroud goals against the big teams.
Apart from Spurs,
Giroud failed to score against any of the top 7 team last season.
While
Yaya Sanogo had been on the scene since his hat-trick against the Benefica side
in the Emirates Cup, it would be un-wise to put the whole burden on the
youngster. Keeping in mind the traits of world class strikers, Sanogo is
lacking what needs to be a killer instinct in-front of goal which has been
justified by the time he took to score his 1st Arsenal goal. So whenever or If
Giroud gets himself injured in the long-run, Yaya Sanogo might not be a game
changer against the big sides keeping in mind his in-experience.
Yaya Sanogo, Arsenal
2nd choice striker, just had 1 shot on target in 8 matches last season
remaining goal-less throughout.
So
as Liverpool have shown their cards with Manchester City, Manchester United and
Chelsea all having world class strikers at their disposal, it might now become
an obligation for the Gunners boss to splash the cash as the last nine days of
this transfer window now might well decide where Arsenal will finish at the end
of this season Premier League.
yes we need a striker :/
