Real
Madrid right-back Alvaro Arbeloa wants to return to Premier League after five
years with Arsenal are interested in his services.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already signed Bacary Sagna’s replacement Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United but still looking for a backup right back with reports linking Arsenal with the former Liverpool man.
Arbeloa
played three seasons at Liverpool before returning to his childhood club Real Madrid. The 31-year-old has a Premier League experience, he played 66 games for
Liverpool during his three years of stay.
The Spainard has
been a regular for Madrid since his return and won’t be joining a team that can’t
guarantee him regular football.
He
has played 189 games for Madrid in his second spell and has won major trophies
including La Liga and Champions League.
According
to Spanish reports Wenger is eyeing him as a defensive cover as Arsenal
defender Thomas Vermaelen is set for a £12million switch to Manchester United.
United
boss Louis van Gaal who recently told that he might not be making any more new signings is still keeping tabs on Vermaelen according to reports.
Arsenal
should focus on signing a striker despite of searching for every other player.
They lacked in front of goals last season but don’t know why Wenger thinks he
does not need a striker.
