Barcelona
are keeping tabs on Arsenal center-back Thomas Vermaelen who is set to leave
the Emirates this summer.
Vermaelen
has also being closely monitored by Manchester United but now it seems that
Barcelona are set to beat the Red Devils.
SkySports
reported that Barcelona have offered a £10 million for Arsenal defender.
Arsenal Wenger has already told that Vermaelen is available for the right price
and will be on his way out of London.
Manchester
United boss Louis van Gaal is still in the race to sign the Arsenal captain but
now will have to fight the Spanish giants.
Barcelona
have already signed a center-back Jeremy Mathieu for £16.5million from Valencia.
It
was also reported earlier today that Barcelona were eyeing defender Jerome
Boateng of Bayern Munich but Bayern manager Pep Guardiola rejected this by
saying it as a rumour.
Few
days ago Spanish reports revealed that Barca are closing in on a move for the
German defender after losing hopes on his teammate Mats Hummels. But all links
were turned down as the former Barca manager Guardiola denied these as rumours.
He
told: “I don't usually say anything about things I read in the newspaper, but I
am planning 100 per cent with him here.”
The
25-year-old joined the German giants from Manchester City in 2011. He has
played 126 games for them.
While Daniel Alves is also linked with a move away from the Camp Nou.
