Arsenal signed Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United for around £10million last month but could have tried for Daniel Alves who is better in all aspects.

Debuchy, 26, is a good experienced player but considering Alves, he is way too good despite of his age.

Currently, Barcelona star defender is targeted by Premier League outfit Liverpool who are in search for a full-back.

The Brazilian is also looking for a move reportedly. He has played 297 games for the Catalans since his move from Sevilla in 2008.

With Glen Johnson flop performances last season, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to strengthen his defensive area with a new signing of Dani Alves who can easily fill up those problems.

Also, Liverpool are on the verge of landing Atletico Madrid full-back Javier Manquillo on a two year-loan deal but despite of his move Rodgers still want a player that can take a starting eleven role at Anfield.

Despite of his age, he will be a good addition to Liverpool squad with such an experience attacking full-back he can surely help Liverpool in the coming season.

Liverpool have already signed a center-back Dejan Lovren from Southampton and reports suggested that vice-captain Daniel Agger could be on his way out with reports linking a move to Barcelona.

Should Arsenal have tried for Alves or Debuchy is a better signing?

  1. No. Dani Alves is a terrible defender. Brazil is great evidence of that. He gets caught out of position a ton and is essentially a winger.
