Manchester
United started off this season not-far from the position where they left off
last. While they finished last season with a draw against the Saints, this time
the Welsh side Swansea City needed no invitation to spoil the party that would
have erupted if United have won their first game. While first defeat in the
opening Premier League fixture since 1972-73 season leaves painful memories, it
might serve the cause as Louis van Gaal might now make signings. While he put
his faith in players like Ashley Young and Marouane Fellaini that are out of
favor with the fans, this defeat might serve as to be the eye-opener for the
Dutch Boss.

Here are the four things he might need to do for a comeback:-
3-5-2 needs World
Class individuals:
Against
Swansea, Manchester United started off with a 3-5-2 however after conceding the
first goal and brain-storming during the half-time, the Dutch boss shifted to a four main defense. While the result was same at the end of both halves of United, one thing is crystal clear that 3-5-2 formation needs talented individuals at
certain positions and with the departures of all Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand in
one transfer window, these positions needs to be strengthened with World Class
Individuals.
Where is the 200 million
war-chest?
More
than the manager, it is the chairman Ed-Woodward that might be blamed if United
endures another fateful season. At the end of last season, it was announced by
the United Chairman that summer spending will be bolstered with a 200million pounds war chest. However as just 14 days since the transfer deadline day and with
teams above United like Liverpool, Chelsea and City starting the season with
full re-enforcements, United is still looking for the perfect man to land.
So if the last season was not enough for Manchester United back-room staff to get convinced that this United squad needs new signings, they should take a look at their rivals of how they have gone forward from last season.

A World Class
midfielder is missing:
Since
the class of 92’, Manchester United have always been blessed with World Class
midfielders. From Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo, United seemed
to be a storage tank for World Class mid-fielders. However since last season
and after splashing nearly 30million pounds on Fellaini, United mid-field is a
department that is weak to say the least. And with a 3-5-2 formation where
mid-fielders often switch their positions to put pressure on the opposition,
at-least one World Class midfielders needs to be fit into the jigsaw puzzle at
Old Trafford.
Starting Ashley Young
in the mid-field seemed not a so good plan for Manchester United.
Defense isn’t that
good!
When Vidic and Ferdinand departed in a matter of days, it was thought that Van Gaal had something in his locker to switch the plan. However as it turned out to be, it was the second choice defenders under Sir Alex that started the plan for Luis Van Gaal and the result seemed imminent. With a whole summer hounding of Mats Hummels and Daley Blind, United needs to wrap these deals off as early as next week to kick of their Premier League campaign.
