In
a signing that left most of the Premier league giants stand still, Arsenal have
captured one of the hot prospects in football as they completed the transfer of
Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. The Catalan giants are always known to extract
talent from the Premier league however what is astonishing in this case is that
now Arsenal are getting their share back. After exporting players like Henry,
Fabregas and Alex Song to Spain, it may seem that Arsenal are looking for
vengeance now.
After capturing Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid last season for a club record fee, most people thought it was a hoax as no one has ever seen the Arsenal board splashing the cash like this. However, after spending a net £9million in 10 years as indicated by former Manchester United player Gary Neville at the start of last season, it may seem that the Arsenal board have nodded in the direction of Mr. Wenger to splash the cash.
Before the signing of
Mesut Ozil last season, Arsenal have spent a net £9million in 10 years as
quoted by Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville.
Since
taking off the reigns of Arsenal football club from 1st October 1996, Arsene
Wenger has made sure the Gunners qualified every time for the prestigious
Champions league spot. However a good patch of trophy less period left the
Arsenal fans wondering had the time has come for the change.
Players
like Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Patrick Viera and Samir Nasri were bought on
cheap and Arsenal gained not only huge profit but also huge criticism from
their fans. One of the major deal was that of Van Persie whom Wenger managed to
sign from Feyenoord for £2.75million and managed to sail for £22.5million . However as fans are more concerned by performances on the pitch than
off it, these transfer left Arsenal fans agonizing.
After
signing Mesut Ozil last season, their fans felt over the moon as in addition to
the club record signing an intent was shown by the Arsenal board that was
lacking before. By extracting talent from Real Madrid, Arsenal made clear that
they are still the destination top players look to settle on when seeking new
pastures.
Before the signing of
Mesut Ozil last season, Arsenal record signing was Jose Antonio Reyes for £17million.
As
reported by the media outlets, Arsenal are once again ready to put their paddle
on race as they are the front runners to capture the signature of German Sami
Khedira. In a deal that might see them beating Mourinho’s Chelsea, Arsenal will
have to spend in the region of £20million to capture the World Cup winner.
So
for as the Arsenal fans are concerned, it seems now the Arsenal board has
decided to jump in the transfer market with full revenge. After losing several
of their star players to rivals Manchester City and Manchester United in the
past few seasons, Arsenal have decided to spend money on well established
players instead of going for raw talent. This might make us see sudden changes
in Arsenal trophy cabinet in the next few years as these players will be
looking for trophies.
yes for me, they used to make quality now they buy quality.
