Cardiff
City defender Gary Medel is set to leave the Welsh club as Inter Milan are on the verge
of signing him according to Italian reports.
Medel
who played all the four World Cup games for Chile is now set to join Inter
Milan in the next few days.
After
an impressive performances for Chile at the World Cup the Chilean has been on
several clubs’ radar. La Liga sides Malaga and Valencia, Turkish outfit Besiktas
are also in the queue who are now looks set to be beaten by Inter Milan in the race to sign
Medel.
Cardiff
signed Medel last year from Sevilla for a club record fee of £7million. The
26-year-old played 34 Premier League games for Cardiff who are now not a part
of Premier League.
SkySports
reported that Inter Milan are offering only £6million for Medel which is even
less than the amount the Welsh club paid for him last summer. Despite of less fee Medel is expected to complete his Serie A move this weekend.
Inter
Milan will make Medel their fourth summer signing. The Italian side have already
signed three players, Nemanja Vidic from Manchester United on a free transfer, defender
Dodo on loan from Roma and Yann MVila on loan from Rubin Kazan.
