World
Cup host nation Brazil will have to suffer a big blow in the next game as
Neymar is out of the World Cup while Captain Thiago Silva will miss due to suspension.
Neymar suffered the back injury in the 88th minute when he was kneed by Colombian defender Juan Zuniga. Neymar was later pulled of the ground on the stretcher and was replaced by defender Henrique.
Boss
Luiz Felipe Scolari had initially said: "Neymar was kneed in the lower
back and was in a lot of pain. I don't know if he will be able to play the next
game."
The
Brazilian star was in tears as he was aware that the injury he suffered might end his World Cup dreams. Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar later confirmed that Neymar suffered a fractured vertebra and will not be able to feature anymore in the World Cup.
Lasmar
said: "It's not serious in the sense that it doesn't need surgery, but
he'll need to immobilise it to recover, unfortunately, he's not going to be
able to play."
While
Brazil boss Scolari will have to suffer another blow as skipper Thiago Silva
will also miss the semifinal against Germany as he received the second yellow card
of the tournament yesterday.
Silva
blocked the drop kick of Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina and got suspended
for the next game, a silly mistake from a World Class defender.
Do you think Brazil can still beat Germany even without these two top players?
May
be the crowd have to play a vital role.
