According
to several reports, Arsenal have submitted a £16million for Shakhtar Donetsk attacker
Douglas Costa.
Costa is unhappy at Shakhtar Donetsk and is set to move this
summer if a good opportunity comes and with Arsenal linking it seems he would
definitely be on his way to London.
The 23-year-old Brazilian was signed by Shakhtar Donetsk from Gremio in 2010 since then he has scored 33
goals in 170 games for the Ukrainian side.
Arsenal
boss Arsene Wenger told few weeks ago that he won’t be signing any attacker
after the big signature of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona but now he is set to
give Olivier Giroud a relief in front of goals who carried the goal burden
alone last season.
Costa
would not be the player who could take Giroud’s position or who could score a big amount of goals but will definitely
provide a backup option in case of need.
The
Brazilian attacker who usually plays as a right forward has still left four
years on his Shakhtar’s contract.
Sixteen million
pounds are enough for this young man and Shakhtar will also not block his move
as the player has already made his mind for an exit from Ukraine.
He scored 6 goals in 35 appearances last season.
