Arsenal
are on the verge of signing Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira and Colombian
stopper David Ospina according to several sources.
Arsenal
who were also interested in Real Madrid veteran Iker Casillas are now set to
land Nice goalkeeper Ospina. The World Cup hero will complete his £3million in
the next 48 hours.
While
World Cup winner Khedira is also in the queue to join Arsenal but nothing has
been finalized yet. It was reported that he has agreed the terms to join
Arsenal.
While,
Arsene Wenger has revealed that they don’t need a striker anymore after buying
Alexis Sanchez they are looking to bolster their defensive areas.
AC
Milan striker Mario Balotelli was strongly linked with a move to Emirates
before Sanchez’s signature but now there has not been any update in Arsenal’s striker
pursuit.
Wenger
said: “It depends whether our midfielders get through now until the start of
the season without injuries.”
"Up
front we don't need any more, maybe I will still bring in one center-back.”
Arsenal
boss has given preference to defensive players rather than another attacker who
could help Olivier Giroud in front of goals.
He
further added that next season will be a tough one as rivals Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are doing great business this summer.
