Executive
director Les Reed has clearly said that interested clubs should make a big
offer if they want to land Lallana else their bid will be wasted.
Les
Reed said, “Lallana’s been here long enough, we’ve brought him to this level
and we feel that perhaps he should give it a little bit longer. Anybody
seriously considering coming for our players are going to have to think very
significantly about the size of the fee.”
Reed
believes that with the arrival of new manager Ronald Koeman, player might not
look to other clubs.
Reed
further added, “I hope the (managerial) announcement will prick up a few ears
and they will think that’s a good, positive move from the club. If players
leave, it will be because we believe it is right for the club.”
Liverpool
were strongly linked with the Englishman in the recent weeks but due to
high demands they diverted their interest towards other talents. According to
recent reports, Liverpool have opened talks for Bayern Munich player Xherdan
Shaqiri.
Liverpool
who have already signed Rickie Lambert from Southampton are now not looking keen on
Lallana.
Chelsea
and Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Lallana and his club and international
teammate Luke Shaw.
Lallana,
26, who is currently with England for the World Cup scored 9 goals and set up 6
last season in Premier League.
