London
outfit Arsenal have targeted Saint-Étienne goalkeeper Stéphane Ruffier as a replacement
of Lukasz Fabianksi.
Fabianksi
signed for Swansea City last week after serving Arsenal for seven years. He
played 78 games for the Gunners and won a FA Cup last season.
Arsenal
current first choice goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been playing regular
football at Emirates for the past three years. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking for a
goalkeeper who can give a competition for that the first choice spot.
Szczesny
shared the golden glove award with Chelsea's Petr Cech last season. The Poland international kept 16 clean sheets
in 37 games. While Frenchman Ruffier kept 16 clean sheets in 38 games.

Reports
suggest that Italian sides Napoli, AC Milan and Roma are all monitoring Ruffier’s
situation along La Liga winners Atletico Madrid.
While
Arsenal have also scouted other goalkeepers, Nancy first choice keeper
Paul Nardi and David Ospina of Nice.
