Arsenal
skipper Thomas Vermaelen will not be leaving the Emirates according to reports.
Vermaelen
has ruled out a move to Old Trafford. The Belgium international is strongly
eyed by new Manchester Untied boss Louis van Gaal.
After
the departure of defenders Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, United are looking to fill
the gaps with reports linking Arsenal captain Vermaelen with a move to United as a replacement of any one of them.
The
28-year-old center back told: “I know there has been a lot of talk and a lot of
rumours but the only thing I can say is that it's not true.”
Vermaelen
who has one year left on his Arsenal contract appeared only 14 times for
Arsenal in Premier League last season.
While United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is not looking for a move despite of a worst
debut season at Old Trafford.
The Belgian joined Manchester United from Everton last summer. United paid £27million for him. Currently, he is shining at the World Cup, recently scored an important goal for Belgium.
He
said: “I don’t play here for a transfer. We’ll see with the new coach, but I
still feel good at United.”
Fellaini is eyeing an opportunity under new boss van Gaal.
Both
the Belgians want to stay at their clubs.
