With
just 16 days left in the World Cup, I have shared my dream team. Real
Madrid and Barcelona dominate the line-up.
Players
selected below are on the basis of their performances with both club and
country in the recent season.
Here
is the dream team, agree?
Iker
Casillas (Goalkeeper – Real Madrid and Spain)
Real
Madrid captain Casillas have once again regained his spot in the best team after
winning the Champions League few days ago.
Dani
Alves (Right back – Barcelona and Brazil)
The
Brazilian who won FIFA Confederation Cup last summer is once again included in
this list. He did not win a single trophy with Barcelona in the recent season but still
there is no one who can challenge him for this spot.
Sergio
Ramos (Center back – Real Madrid and Spain)
Ramos
can be called as the game changer this season. Due to him Madrid won Champions
League, his stoppage time goal which gave Madrid the trophy will be remembered forever.
Gerard
Pique (Center back – Barcelona and Spain)
Another
Barcelona defender Pique who has already won World Cup is eyeing another international
trophy.
Philipp
Lahm (Left back – Bayern Munich and Germany)
Germany
and Bayern Munich captain Lahm is the right back for this line up, he can also
play as a defensive midfielder.
Yaya Toure (Defensive midfielder –Manchester City and Ivory Coast)
Manchester
City top scorer of 2013-2014 season with 20 goals is the only player from Ivory
Coast.
Cristiano Ronaldo (Right wing – Real Madrid and Portugal)
Ballon
d’Or winner Ronaldo deserves a spot without a doubt. He made a new record by scoring 17 goals in a single Champions League season.
Andrés
Iniesta (Attacking midfielder – Barcelona and Spain)
A
trophy less season for the Spaniard but still managed to be in this line up. This
World Cup might be his last World Cup.
Franck
Ribery (Left wing – Bayern Munich and France)
Ribery
made only 22 appearances in Bundesliga in the recent season but still managed
to score 10 important goals.
Luis
Suarez (Left wing –Liverpool and Uruguay)
13-14
Premier League best player and top scorer Luis Suarez definitely deserves a
spot after his exceptional performances in recent season.
Lionel Messi (Striker – Barcelona and Argentina)
Four
times Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi will play alongside Suarez in this line-up,
the Argentine player who had an injury in the last season was still capable of
finishing the season with 28 goals in La Liga.
