Chelsea manager Mourinho has criticized Manchester City for not performing outside of England ahead of their meeting on Monday in the Premier League fixture.

Jose Mourinho has claimed that Manchester City have been lucky with a numerous referee’s decision this season, Chelsea manager said that the “BPL leaders have underachieved” – especially in Champions League – considering their huge spending in the last summer.

Not an impressive City's record, says Mourinho

Manchester City lifted their first Premier League title in 44 years in 2012, but they have not showed any positive sign in Champions League campaign.

Mourinho said that they have won couple of trophies including a BPL title in recent years but only in England not in Europe. City were not good in Champions League in past seasons.

City have spent a lot of money on their new signings, City have a fantastic squad plus a good manager. He think they should win more titles.

Mourinho said that the first thing is to know the rules of competition, City knew that if they fail to top the group then they might play the teams like Barcelona in the knockout stage. City needed only a goal to qualify as the group leaders.

"The first thing to be successful in Europe is to know the rules of the competition. That's the first thing," the Chelsea boss joked.

Chelsea boss further added that City are favourites to win Premier League this term, while he is making his squad stronger for the future not only for today.

Blues manager said regarding Ashley Cole that "Ashley is playing well with us. If he's not playing every game, okay, he's not playing every game, but he's playing and he's playing well and I think that's what Roy Hodgson needs to feel and know.”

He thinks that Ashely is still one of the best left-back, and he will definitely be playing in Brazil in the summer. Everton’s Leighton Baines is the only player who can fight Cole for his place in the starting eleven.
