Chelsea are not title challengers, says Mourinho

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has still insisted that the Blues are still not fighting for the Premier League title after a great away win against Manchester City.

Chelsea are not title challengers, says Mourinho

Chelsea broke City’s unbeaten home record last night by beating them 1-0 at Etihad Stadium, thanks to Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic for a goal.

Mourinho has already mentioned many times that he is not making his side stronger for now, the main purpose is to make the squad capable of winning the trophies in the future.

Blues boss said, "The title race is between two horses and a little horse that needs milk and needs to learn how to jump. Maybe next season we can race."

Chelsea have equaled the points with City but still are behind them due to a goal difference, currently on third place in the League table.

The Portuguese manager said that Arsenal and Manchester City are the teams that are fighting for the title. He further added that Chelsea were the best side last night but City are the best team in the Premier League.

"We do better in these big games because we love it. We love the big games and when you love it maybe you feel an extra motivation,” said Mourinho.

Once again he added that Chelsea's objective is not to win the league, their aim is to build the team for the future.

City lost a match after two months, last time Sunderland were the side that beat City by 1-0 at the Stadium of Light.
