Theo
Walcott has insisted that he would welcome any new striker that Arsene Wenger is
planning to bring to Emirates this month.
Arsenal
are in serious injury troubles in terms of strikers, both Olivier Giroud and Nicklas
Bendtner are injured currently and Arsenal don’t have any experienced forward,
they may give Lukas Podolski that role but they will also be trying to land one
or two player for that position.
The league leaders have seen strikers Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner suffer
ankle injuries and reports saying that Fulham’s Dimitar Berbatov is being eyed
by Arsenal.
Walcott
said that it depends on the manager who will he bring this month, he would
welcome any new player because addition to the squad means making the side stronger.
He
also said that it is good to have more competition with new players, but winter
transfer market is always difficult in terms of buying good players. Wenger has
already said that he is trying to bring some new faces in the dressing room.
Arsenal
are on top of the table, one point above Manchester City, after winning 2-0
against Cardiff City on New Year's Day. Bendtner and Walcott scored the late
goals to secure their win.
Walcott
added regarding their title race that they have to play the same game till the
end, they never give up and every match makes them stronger.
