BPL Match Previews: Gameweek 20. An important game on the New Year, Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur. Others are also discussed like Liverpool v Hull City, Swansea City v Manchester City, Arsenal v Cardiff City, Southampton v Chelsea

Match Preview: Matchweek 20

Swansea City vs Manchester City
Another good game on the New Year. Swansea City have managed to pick 21 points only in 19 games. While City is fighting to secure top spot, they are just one point behind the Gunners who will face Cardiff City today. City’s top scorer Sergio Aguero is still out due to calf injury, Alvaro Negredo may start alone.

Stat: City have scored 54 goals this season, but they have failed to score in their last two games against Swansea.

Prediction: 1-2

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur
Manchester United hosts Tottenham Hotspurs in the 20 week of Premier League. United and Spurs both have equal points 34, United is above due to goal difference. It is an important match for both the teams. David Moyes seeks to continue his impressive run.

Stat: Wayne Rooney has netted nine League goals against Spurs, including seven in his last six starts.

Liverpool vs Hull City
A must win game for Liverpool but as it is aid that anything is possible in football. Liverpool lost their last two games and today they will play Hull City at Anfield. Steven Gerrard, Jordon Henderson and Premier League top scorer Luis Suarez are fit to face Hull according to reports.
Hull City defeated Liverpool at home but this time its Liverpool’s home and it is difficult for Hull to win.

Stat: Hull City have never won a BPL match in the month of January, in seven attempts.

Prediction: 3-0

Arsenal vs Cardiff City
Arsenal have a long injury list while Ozil is doubt for the game, while for Cardiff only two players are injured including Craig  Bellamy. With Olivier Giroud injured who will take his place? It is difficult because Arsenal don’t have any experienced striker, Lukas Podolski might start as a forward.

Stat: Arsenal haven’t lost any game at home on New Year’s Day for 29 years.

Prediction: 2-0

Southampton vs Chelsea
Southampton started the season very well but now they are at 9th place. They will face Chelsea at home. Chelsea’s Frank Lampard is out due to muscle injury, David Luiz has to serve a suspension while Branislav Ivanović suffered injured in last game against Liverpool. Southampton will assess their star player’s fitness Dani Osvaldo who is doubt for the game due to illness.

Stat: Chelsea are one goal short of conceding 800 in the BPL.
