Top 10 most expensive transfers of all time: Zidane, Ronaldo, Kaka, Bale are in this list because of Real Madrid. While Chelsea flop Torres and Monaco Rodriguez and Falcao are also there.

1. Gareth Bale
Real Madrid broke the record of Cristiano Ronaldo by signing Bale for £86 million from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur last year. The Welsh man has netted 9 goals in 19 games in Madrid jersey this season.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo
Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo is on 2nd place. The Portuguese was the most expensive player before Gareth Bale’s move to Real Madrid. Los Blancos signed Ronaldo for £80 million from Manchester United in 2009. Currently Ronaldo is the top goal scorer in La Liga.

3. Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Inter Milan received £59 million for Ibrahimovic from Barcelona. The Sweden international played only a season with Barcelona. Currently he is playing for Paris Saints Germain.

4. Kaka
Kaka cost Real Madrid £56 million for a move to Santiago BernabĂ©u from AC Milan in 2009. The Brazilian played four season at Madrid before returning to AC Milan last year.

5. Edinson Cavani
The Uruguay international signed a five year contract at Paris Saints Germain last year. PSG paid £55 million for the 6 ft 2 in striker.

6. Radamel Falcao
French side Monaco signed Radamel Falcao from La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid for £51 million last year. The 27-year-old Colombian has scored 9 goals for Monaco in Ligue 1 this season.

7. Fernando Torres
Chelsea paid £50 million to Liverpool for Fernando Torres. The Spaniard has not proved his worth at Stamford Bridge. The 29-year-old has scored 42 goals in 143 appearances for Chelsea in three and a half seasons.

8. Neymar
The Brazilian wonder kid is playing his first season at Barcelona after signing a long term deal last year. Santos received £48.6 million from Barca for him. Recently, he suffered an injury which has sidelined him for four weeks.

9. Zinedine Zidane
Real Madrid and Juventus legend is on number 9. Madrid paid £46 million to Juventus for Zidane in 2001. Currently he is assistant coach and sporting director at Real Madrid.

10. James Rodriguez
Last year in May French side Monaco signed young star Rodriguez for £38.5 million from Porto. The Colombian winger has been a regular for the Ligue 1 side since his move. He has scored 3, set up 8 in 18 games for Monaco this season in all competitions.
