Arsenal are keeping an eye on Glen Johnson’ situation
as he is not ready to sign a new contract at Anfield.
According to Sports Direct News, Arsenal manager Arsene
Wenger may see the English man as a replacement for their right back Bacary
Sagna who might be leaving the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season as AC
Milan are interested in the French full back. The 30 year old has not signed a
new contract and will be free to move in the summer.
Arsenal boss has already scouted some right backs
including Rafinha of Bayern Munich and Rafael of Manchester United. Wenger can
also give Carl Jenkinson a chance to prove himself to be a regular starter as the
young English man has the capability of playing good football. Jenkinson is
young and talented, he can fill the right back position for long term.
Johnson who was born in London may move to Arsenal,
especially if The Reds failed to secure a Champions League place.
The England right back who joined Liverpool from Portsmouth
for a fee around to be £17.5 million has previously played for many Premier
League sides including West Ham, Chelsea and Portsmouth.
Johnson is an attacking right back and he can play on
both sides of the defence. The 29 year old has made 152 appearances in
Liverpool jersey.
